The Republic of San Marino, which has a population of around 30,000, launched the San Marino Aircraft Registry at a ceremony held in San Marino on 7 November 2012. Ministers, dignitaries, officials and executives all gathered to see Antonella Molaroni, the Secretary of State for Transport, officially open the new aircraft registry.
Following speeches the San Marino Aircraft Registry was officially declared open with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Antonella Molaroni, The Secretary of State for Transport welcomed attendees to the event and explained that the official opening ceremony in San Marino was initiated so that local operators and aircraft owners are aware of the opportunities offered by the San Marino Aircraft Registry. She also advised that an “industry†launch of the Registry is to take place at the Middle East Business Aviation exhibition, MEBA, in Dubai in December.
Marco Conti, the Director General of the San Marino Civil Aviation & Maritime Navigation Authority told attendees how he was “Delighted to work with the Aviation Registry Group in setting up the agreement between the two organisations.†Conti added “The Aviation Registry Group had been decisive in ensuring that the San Marino Aircraft Registry complies with international aviation standards and regulations. The expertise they have brought to setting up the San Marino Registry had been essential in its creation.â€
Conti concluded by saying “The Aviation Registry Group brings first class integrity to the San Marino Aircraft Registry and ensures that the new registry will offer very competitive services, resources and support to aircraft owners and operators. The San Marino Aircraft Registry will meet and comply with all international standards and procedures whilst providing full technical support and backup.â€
The final speaker during the ceremony was Jorge Colindres, CEO of the Aviation Registry Group. He emphasised the advantages aircraft owners and operators will receive from registering their aircraft with the San Marino Aircraft Registry. Colindres brought proceedings to a close by saying “The Aviation Registry Group is honoured to partner with the San Marino Registry to take it to a higher level and deliver the many benefits resulting from this co-operation. We must not forget that to remain competitive we have to understand the future of civil aviation, we plan to ensure that the San Marino Aircraft Registry is a key part of that future. It is our intention that the San Marino Aircraft Registry becomes known as the Registry of Excellence. I look forward to working with our partners in San Marino and to achieving a very successful first year.â€
